Branchen & Anwendungsbereiche
Automotive
Allod offers established materials with OEM approvals for numerous automotive applications. The TPEs can be used in exterior, interior, and engine/chassis areas and meet the respective requirements, such as UV resistance, emission behavior, and other automotive specifications.
Electronics & electrical
The application possibilities of TPE in the electrical and electronics sector are diverse. These materials are often used for cable grommets or housing seals. In the latter case, adhesion to demanding bonding partners can be particularly crucial. Allod also offers electrically conductive materials, which can serve as contacts or for signal transmission. Thermally conductive TPE from Allod can be used for the cooling of electronic components. To meet flame-retardant requirements, Allod provides flame-retardant TPE based on halogen-free flame retardants. TPE can also be an alternative for encapsulating electronic components: with extremely free-flowing materials, processable at very low pressures, circuit boards can be overmolded using the injection molding process.
Consumer care & toys
TPEs are found in many everyday applications. In 2K applications, they provide a pleasant feel and improved grip, for example in toothbrushes, razors, tools, and other products. TPEs can also be used in toys, both for pets and children. In the latter case, compliance with the EN71 standard is required. Allod supplies TPEs for a wide range of everyday applications, from dog toys to tool handles.
Medical technology
TPEs used in the medical field must meet special requirements. In addition to medical devices, TPEs can also be used in applications close to the body, such as face masks or biopsy valves. Allod’s TPEs are primarily used in device construction or in applications involving skin contact. In these cases, the materials often need to meet requirements for sterilizability or medical testing according to ISO 10993.
Packaging & consumer goods
Numerous TPE applications require the material used to be safe for contact with food. Examples include grip materials for household utensils or seals in the packaging sector, such as swing-top closures for bottles or taps for kegs. Allod offers materials that are suitable for food contact and comply with common regulations (e.g., EU 10/2011, FDA).
White goods
In addition to classic applications for soft materials such as seals, drain sleeves, etc., TPEs can also be used in various other applications in household appliances. From extrusion profiles in refrigerators to electrically conductive materials for capacitive touch surfaces, the requirements for TPE materials are diverse. Allod develops and produces TPEs tailored to the specific requirements that the material must meet in household appliances.
Tools & industrial supplies
Materials with good abrasion resistance and slip resistance are often used as handle materials for tools. In addition to handles, there is also demand in the industrial sector for seals, buffers, and other soft, elastic components.
3D printing and additive manufacturing
Additive manufacturing with flexible filaments and special TPE compounds for use with common filament and granulate printers. This enables new design possibilities and prototyping solutions with soft materials, as well as the production of customized products.
